On August 8, Höegh Autoliners launched the first Aurora Class pure car and truck carrier (PCTC), Höegh Aurora, built by China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) Co Ltd in Nantong City.

The maiden voyage marks the successful delivery of the world's largest and most environmentally friendly car carrier.

The ship has a total length of 199.9 meters, a design draft of 9.35 meters, and a carrying capacity of 9,100 cars. With strengthened decks and enhanced internal ramp systems, it can carry vehicles on 14 decks.

The vessel runs on liquefied natural gas and low-sulfur oil. The top deck is also equipped with 1,500 square meters of solar panels to enhance its environmental performance.
