Nantong has officially launched the construction of a national demonstration zone for intellectual property rights (IPR) protection, becoming the third city in Jiangsu Province, after Nanjing and Suzhou, to undertake this initiative.

Jiangsu is designated as the only IPR demonstration province of strategic importance in China, responsible for pilot tasks for IPR reform, with its successful measures to be promoted nationwide.

With the Intellectual Property Protection Center in Nanjing as the core, the city has established sub-centers for IPR enforcement assistance and enforcement bases for IPR protection.

In Suzhou, efforts have been focused on the rapid preliminary review of patents and providing IPR risk alerts for key enterprises. The city has also been promoting cross-departmental cooperation to address disputes in high-tech fields. In 2023, the city successfully solved over 170 IPR cases.
