The cargo train service between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Yangtze River Delta has resumed after being suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On December 12, a train carrying 30 containers loaded with auto parts, furniture and electrical appliances, food and beverage departed from Dalang Station in Guangzhou City, heading for the delta region. It arrived at Wuxi West Station in Jiangsu Province 26 hours later, marking the resumption of the freight train service linking the two economic hubs of China.

The cargo service will be run regularly, about one trip every two days, and Wuxi South Station is set to become a new destination.
