Jiangsu’s export of of vessels reached 52.58 billion yuan in the first ten months of this year, marking a 38.1% year-on-year growth and securing its top position nationwide, according to Nanjing Customs.

The export values of container ships and bulk vessels stood at 19.67 billion yuan and 20.16 billion yuan, respectively, up 88.5% and 48% compared to the previous year.

Notably, Jiangsu’s shipbuilders have made great progress in moving up the industrial value chain by constructing high-tech vessels, such as dual-fuel LNG container ship and ultra-large container ships.

For example, Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd delivered ZIM CORAL, a 7,000-TEU LNG dual-fuel container ship, on November 18, following the earlier delivery of ZIM AMBER, another vessel of the same type.

"At present, our group is concurrently building nine new vessels, including five dual-fuel ships. Our current orders also include two LNG cargo ships, each with a capacity of 175,000 cubic meters,” said the company’s customs specialist Wang Yi.
