Jiangsu boasts four ports included on the One Hundred Ports 2022, recently released by Lloyd's List, a premier source of news, analysis and data for shipping business worldwide.

The ports of Taicang, Lianyungang, Nanjing and Nantong in the coastal province are among China's 27 ports recognized by the list, ranking 22nd, 33rd, 65th and 84th, respectively.

Taicang Port achieved a container throughput of 8.026 million TEUs in 2022, making it the 8th largest in China. The port operates near-sea routes that reach destinations across Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia and Russia, and domestic routes that connect all major coastal ports in the country. The port handles an annual cargo volume of 266 million tonnes and about 150,000 inbound and outbound vessels.

In 2022, container throughput at Lianyungang Port reached about 5.57 million TEUs. The port has newly opened routes to Russia, South Korea and Thailand, and has incorporated the sea-rail intermodal transportation channels.

In the Yangtze River basin, Nanjing Port leads in terms of the service frequency of near-sea shipping lines and inland transport for foreign trade. Apart from the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River and the Grand Canal, the port operates shipping services to Japan, South Korea, Vietnam and Thailand.

Nantong Port's container throughput reached 2.24 million TEUs in 2022, a year-on-year growth of 10.5%. The port serves as a national transit for bulk cargo such as ore, coal, grain and oil, and also hosts a national LNG hub.
