2023 World New Energy Expo opens in Changzhou

The 2023 World New Energy Expo is being held in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province from June 19 to 21.

The expo is co-hosted by Changzhou Municipal People's Government, the province's Department of Industry and Information Technology and Energy Bureau. It includes a series of activities such as the opening ceremony, exhibition, development forum and promotion of new energy vehicles, bringing together nearly 200 enterprises in the sector.

Since 2019, Changzhou has successfully held the World Industrial and Energy Internet Expo for four consecutive years. In 2022, the output value of new energy sector in Changzhou exceeded 510 billion yuan, with the vehicle production and battery sales both accounting for half of the province's total. From January to May this year, Changzhou enterprises produced 216,000 new energy vehicles, an increase of 137.5%.

The innovation and entrepreneurship competitions for college students in the fields of new energy were also launched at the opening ceremony.

In the exhibition, enterprises showcased their latest products and services in five zones dedicated to hydrogen energy, energy storage and other topics. In addition, twelve automakers including BYD, NIO and Guangzhou Toyota Motor held shows and sales onsite.

The equipment exhibition area features equipment powered by new energy, such as hydrogen locomotives, electric trucks and electric buses.

The expo will also hold forums on topics such as energy storage technology, development trends of new energy vehicle and hydrogen energy.
