Total added value of industrial enterprises above designated size in Jiangsu up 8.8%

In the first four months, the total added value of industrial enterprises above the designated size in Jiangsu registered a year-on-year growth of 8.8%, including an increase of 21.5% in April alone, according to the province's Department of Industry and Information Technology on May 29.

Jiangsu's manufacturing industry has played an important role in supporting the economic recovery, with the automobile industry achieving an increase in added valued of 20.3% compared to the same period last year.

Among the main industrial sectors, the processing of food and the manufacture of wines, beverages and refined tea witnessed increases in added value of 19.4% and 17.7%, respectively.

In the petrochemical industry, the added value of the petroleum processing, coking and nuclear fuel processing increased by 26% year on year.

Additionally, in the textile industry, the manufacturing of chemical fiber recorded a growth of 17.5% in added value.
