The Suzhou Photonics Industry Federation was inaugurated in Suzhou New District, one of the first national high-tech zones, on May 15.
The first batch of 96 enterprises in photonics industry joined the association and they pledged to hold seminars or supply-demand matching meetings to promote cooperation.
The founding members of the organization are Hengtong Group, InnoLight Technology, Visionox, Everbright Photonics, and CEPREI’s East China Branch. The objective is to establish a platform led by top enterprises and supported by universities and research institutes to foster collaborative innovation and business incubation.
Currently, Suzhou is focusing on building a photonics hub by implementing 20 supportive measures, establishing the Taihu Lake Photon Center, and also creating an investment fund with a capital pool of 10 billion yuan.
The photonics sector in Suzhou has an industrial value of 360 billion yuan, with the core fields generating an output value of over 60 billion yuan. A complete industry chain spanning photonics generation, transmission, and application is gradually taking shape in Suzhou.
