Guided by the national 6G R&D working group and the general expert group, the Global 6G Conference 2023 opened in Nanjing, organized by the Purple Mountain Laboratories and Future Mobile Communication Forum.
Zhang Guangjun, vice minister of science and technology, said that the Chinese government has always insisted on opening up in sci-tech endeavors and actively integrating into the global innovation network.
Focusing on 6G, the ministry aims to "build the infrastructure for the future digital world" and support scientists from across the world to cooperate in the fields of 6G application, network, coverage, transmission, and devices. The ministry also welcomes international enterprises, research institutions, and universities to participate in the initiative.

Deng Xiuming, deputy secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, noted that the province will take the digital economy as the key driver of transformation, promote the high-quality development of Purple Mountain Laboratories and other pro-innovation platforms. Jiangsu will also strongly support the R&D and application of 6G, and strive to build it into an industrial innovation hub with global influence.
With the theme of "Better Together, Better Future", the conference included four topics: 6G application scenarios and standardization, network architecture and endogenous security, wireless transmission and spectrum sharing, and connectivity across the land and sky as well as on-demand services. The conference aimed to build consensus on 6G development, promote international cooperation, and create a unified standard system.
