Nanjing has sent 268 business delegations to promote economic and trade negotiations abroad since September this year. They have visited 16 countries and regions including Germany, France, Canada, Japan and South Korea with deals and letters of intent worth more than 2 billion yuan signed. Wang Yaping, general manager of Nanjing Longman Trade Co Ltd, attended an exhibition in Los Angeles in mid-November. He met five old clients in the 2-day exhibition and built contacts with about 40 new potential clients. Wang said the face-to-face meeting is important to exchange information and deepen cooperation. He also became interested in the suggestion of setting up a distribution warehouse in the West Coast of the US, an idea he will explore further during the next visit in 2023. In the second half of this year, the Nanjing Municipal Government introduced a number of measures to support enterprises in developing international markets, providing access to business flights and efficient customs clearance services. More than 3,000 people have used the green channels for business trips abroad, including 1,207 people from September to now. (Photo provided to Xinhua Daily) Chen Shi, deputy general manager of Jiangsu SOHO Textile Group, said the COVID-19 outbreaks in the past three years have made the company's efforts to tap into international markets very difficult but not suspended. In October this year, the company successfully won an order in West African for aluminum and steel tile worth $1 million as well as an order in Spain for clothing and textile worth $4 million. For the first time in three years, Nanjing Iron and Steel Group International Trade Co Ltd sent a team in October to visit eight countries and regions including Singapore and the United Arab Emirates, which helped ink deals worth 1 billion yuan.
