Added value of industrial firms above designated size up 5.1% in Jiangsu

In the first ten months of this year, Jiangsu's added value of industrial enterprises above the designated size grew by 5.1% year on year, maintaining a recovery for five consecutive months, according to the provincial statistics bureau on November 22.

In breakdown, the computer, communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries registered year-on-year growth of 7.8%. The electrical machinery and equipment and the automobile sectors recorded growth of 14.6% and 15.0% respectively.

In the services sector, from January to September, the business income of the transportation, storage and postal industries increased by 4.9% year on year, while that of the information transmission, software and information technology industries expanded by 11.5%, and 12% for the scientific research and technology industries.

Jiangsu's total retail sales of consumer goods in the ten months remained the same as the same period last year.

Meanwhile, the deposit balance in Chinese yuan reached 20.96 trillion yuan in the province's financial institutions by the end of October, up 11.4% year on year, and the balance of loans in Chinese yuan increased 14.7% to 20.05 trillion yuan.

The province's consumer prices rose by 2.5% year on year in October. In the ten months, the consumer prices rose by 2.2% year on year.
