The forum on trade and economic cooperation between Germany and Jiangsu Province opened in the province's Suqian City on November 10.

The forum was co-hosted by the province's Department of Commerce and Suqian government and attended by the city council of Mönchengladbach in Germany via video link.

The growth of Suqian's actualized use of foreign investment ranked first in Jiangsu for three consecutive years. The city is now home to eight German companies which specialize in precision instruments, mechanical engineering and new materials. Suqian UniteChem Group also made investment in 2020 to open a sales company in Düsseldorf.

Suqian established friendly exchange relations with Mönchengladbach in 2016.
