The output of the crystalline silicon solar cell industry in Suqian City, Jiangsu Province reached 17.655 billion yuan in the first four months of the year, 104.02% of the amount in the same period one year ago.

The city has taken multiple measures to promote the industry’s development, such as attracting new investment through online meetings and virtual promotions. Suqian signed five new projects each worth 100 million yuan in the four months.

Crystalline silicon is the dominant semiconducting material for the production of solar cells. Suqian’s crystalline silicon solar cell production capacity hit 21.13 GW and PV module production facility reached 31.2 GW in the four months, according to the city’s Development and Reform Commission.
