Yin Yong, NPC deputy and also head of the post office in Guiren Town, Sihong County, Suqian City of Jiangsu Province, said the Government Work Report delivered by Premier Li Keqiang at the NPC session has left him a deep impression for highlighting issues related to agriculture, rural areas and farmers.
"At the Great Hall of the People, I couldn’t help but applaud when agriculture and farmers are mentioned in the report,” said Yin.
The lawmaker built a reputation for helping farmers sell rice through livestreaming when the COVID-19 outbreak disrupted the market. In last December, despite low temperatures, Yin stood in the rice field and introduced the local produce in the live broadcast, which helped sell 10,000 kg of rice on the day.
As a deputy of the national legislature, Yin said he’s ready to speak for people. In this NPC session, he has submitted suggestions on improving the elderly care in rural area, saying the public service is far away from meeting the demand. Among the challenges he identified is the dampened enthusiasm of private investment due to lack of support measures.
Yin’s suggestion is to promote cooperation between hospitals and service providers through resources sharing and also expand the service model that combines medical treatment and elderly care.
