Yangcheng Port opened a breakbulk cargo shipping service to South America on September 17, also the port’s first ocean shipping route.
The route starts from the port’s Dafeng Port Area and will be operated once a month for the moment. This service will enhance the outreach of Yancheng Port and provide efficient and high-quality shipping services for enterprises with reduced logistics costs.
In recent years, Yancheng Port has given full play to its advantages of natural conditions, good environment and location of each port area. It has also tried to seize the opportunities of development strategies such as the Yangtze River Delta integration, the Yangtze River Economic Belt and Huaihe River Green Economic Belt. Active efforts were made to pool river and sea port resources and advance the coordinated development. In 2021, it became one of China’s large ports with freight volumes handled exceeding 100 million tons a year.
