Jiangsu and the China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) signed a strategic cooperation agreement on June 8 as the province’s Party chief Wu Zhenglong and governor Xu Kunlin met with the CTG’s chairman Lei Mingshan and general manager Han Jun.
Jiangsu leaders expressed gratitude to the corporation’s long-term support to the coastal province’s economic and social development.
After giving a brief introduction of Jiangsu's coordinated efforts for COVID-19 response and reopening, Wu stressed the importance of protecting the Yangtze River and pledged that the province will fully and accurately implement the new development concept in pursuing low-carbon transformation and advancing the eco-friendly growth of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
The CTG is the world's largest enterprise of hydroelectric plant development and operation and also China’s largest clean energy group. Wu hoped both sides can deepen cooperation in achieving “dual carbon” goals, the Yangtze River protection, ecological and environmental governance, green energy and industry development.
Wu also said Jiangsu will continue efforts to build a market-oriented, internationalized business environment based on the rule of law and support the development of the CTG in Jiangsu.
Lei said that the CTG and Jiangsu enjoy a long-time and fruitful cooperation. He hailed Jiangsu as a place with an excellent business environment and a strong entrepreneurial mindset, which strengthen the company’s confidence for closer cooperation.
