Xuzhou has stepped up efforts to ensure the smooth operation of China-Europe freight train services in the fight against COVID-19. 

On the night of March 28, two staff members Wang Ming and Zhuo Zijian received a notice from the distribution center about the arrival of a freight train carrying 40 containers in about one hour, which also showed the train’s parking information and also urged for full disinfection.  

The staff members immediately called a disinfection company, which then sent well-equipped professionals to the designated site some 30 minutes later. They later carried out a thorough disinfection on all six sides of the containers after taking environmental samples. 

Wang and Zhuo later completed the paperwork, including the disinfection proof from the service provider. On the next day, the containers were then collected and transported by trucks to the importing enterprises and factories.
