ECOVACS and Hengtong Optic-electric are among 11 companies from East China’s Jiangsu Province recognized on the latest list of the national industrial design centers by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Jiangsu is now home to 24 national industrial design centers, about 10% of China’s total, ranking among the top five in the country.

In addition, there are 412 industrial design centers, six industrial design research institutes and five industrial design demonstration parks all recognized at the provincial level. Such venues contributed to five award-winning industrial designs at the national level and 28 designs at the provincial level.

The province has more than 30,000 practitioners in industrial design, a booming sector that has led and empowered the development of the manufacturing.
