Some companies in the province have already started the low-carbon transition through applying new technologies. Suzhou-based LZY Technology, which manufactures and distributes micro-controller products, has adopted a smart lighting control system that can automatically adjust the light level in the workspace to save electricity. Hengtong has also put into use an energy use management system that can issue warnings in cases of high energy consumption or excessive emissions.
According to the provincial department’s Energy Conservation and Resources Comprehensive Utilization, a low-carbon transformation not only minimizes the negative impact on the environment but also saves costs for production. During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, Jiangsu continuously embraced the green development path through efforts on many fronts, such as a recognition of role models in manufacturing industry, more application of eco-friendly manufacturing solutions, support to energy-saving manufacturing projects, and creation of professional service providers. A system that promotes green manufacturing industry is taking shape in the province.
By recognizing regions and industrial parks for low-carbon performances, the province aims to spearhead efforts of building a green industrial structure, accelerating the low-carbon industrial transformation, and improving energy conservation for a high-quality development.
