Jiangsu introduced its progress in promoting the application of digital technologies in rural areas during an event in Zhangjiagang City on October 12.
The "digital villages" initiative is to improve the information technology infrastructure, explore new models for rural digital economy and rural governance, among others. The coastal province has implemented a series of measures and accumulated rich experiences in the initiative.
The province’s Cyberspace Administration and Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs also organized a media tour to introduce the initiative’s progress. In the tour, representatives from nearly 20 key news portals will visit ten pilot villages recognized at the national or provincial levels.
