The China Chamber of International Commerce, the CCPIT Jiangsu Sub-council and Taicang government jointly organized the China-Japan-South Korea Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange on June 29.
The event came as a spin-off of the Taihu East Asian Entrepreneurs Forum that opened last month in Suzhou City to ensure the smooth operation of East Asia’s industrial chain.
Taicang has built a solid industrial foundation in many fields including biomedicine, aviation and new-generation information technology. The city is home to nearly 300 Japanese or South Korean companies with a total investment of nearly $3 billion. These companies include both global industry giants like Hwaseung and competitive SMEs like PHA.
At the forum, representatives from Taicang, Kanagawa of Japan and Daejeon of Korea introduced the economic and social development in each region and also promoted their featured industries. Experts from the three countries made presentations over a broad range of topics, such as cooperation in environmental industry, a survey of overseas business development of Japanese manufacturing enterprises, and investment opportunities for Japanese enterprises in China.
The event also saw the signing of agreement for 24 projects with a total investment of 10.646 billion yuan, such as a project about aviation parts and precision components.
