Taicang City in Jiangsu Province announced new measures to boost its intelligent manufacturing drive and introduced key projects with German investment on January 15.
The event also witnessed the unveiling of three platforms including Honeycombtech Auto Parts Industrial Internet Application Center and China-Germany Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Center.
The newly established innovation center will leverage resources of Taicang-based enterprises to offer solutions and service for intelligent manufacturing in a closer cooperation with talent training programs and researches conducted at universities. The aim is to build it into a public service platform that integrates functions of product display, application, research, and technology transfer. It’s expected to serve manufacturing enterprises, accelerate their digital transformation, and contribute to development of real economy.
Taicang has been a key investment destination for Germany, with the highest concentration of German enterprises in China and the most productive cooperation between enterprises in two countries. Taicang has won recognition including the Sino-German enterprise cooperation base and the first Sino-German SME cooperation demonstration zone. Today, Taicang is home to 360 German enterprises, and nearly 10 percent of all German manufacturing enterprises in the country.
