Changzhou hosts China-EU low-carbon cooperation conference

The China-EU Low-carbon Cooperation Conference opened in Changzhou City on June 21, alongside with the start of a mission to become an international pilot of green innovation.

Li Lin, vice mayor of Changzhou, said the China-Europe (Changzhou) Green Innovation Park has facilitated the cooperation among 14 institutions from home and abroad, contributed to more than 10 technical partnerships, and introduced a number of joint ventures. The event is expected to further promote the development of circular economy in Changzhou and even in China, and also deepen the international cooperation between China and Europe in green and low-carbon sectors.

Since the founding, the park has served well as an international exchange and exhibition platform, launched the efforts to be an eco-industrial park in an initiative of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and explored best practices that be repeated in other parks in China and Europe.

The event also showed new investment projects by Siemens, Schneider Electric, ROKNI, MYOSM Heating Technology and other companies. Meanwhile new initiatives such as China-Europe Ecological Digital Model Platform, China-Ukraine Green Low-carbon Innovation Base and China-Germany Youth Climate Change Education and Practice Project were also unveiled in the event.
