Jiangsu has six advanced industrial clusters recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), ranking first in the country alongside Guangdong Province.
To promote the development of advanced manufacturing clusters, the ministry organized a competition focusing on new generation information technology, high-end equipment, new materials, biomedicine and other key fields. The ministry finally selected 25 winners – 6 in Jiangsu and Guangdong each, 3 in Zhejiang, 2 in Shanghai, Shandong, Hunan and Sichuan each, and 1 in Anhui and Shaanxi each.

According to the Planning Department of MIIT, the winning industrial clusters will benefit from special support of the ministry to strengthen innovation as well as more governmental fund to sharpen global competitive edge.
The six winning industrial clusters in Jiangsu are IOT in Wuxi, software and information service in Nanjing, smart grid in Nanjing, Nano materials in Suzhou, construction machinery in Xuzhou, and new carbon materials in Changzhou.
