The Jiangsu Development and Reform Commission, the province’s top economic planner, released a list of key projects this year.
The 240 projects have a total investment of 553 billion yuan, 12 billion yuan more than in last year, and are divided into five categories: innovation platform, industrial, ecological, livelihood and infrastructure.
There will be 20 projects to serve as innovation carriers with a planned annual investment of 9.1 billion yuan and 142 industrial projects with a total investment of 194.5 billion yuan. The province’s 12 ecological projects and 36 infrastructure projects involve an investment of 21.8 billion yuan and 226.6 billion yuan, respectively. Jiangsu also plans 101 billion yuan for ten important projects to improve livelihood.
According to the list, the province will strengthen efforts to accelerate industrial hubs in Suzhou, Lianyungang, Changzhou and Suqian to concentrate on biomedical, petrochemical, high-end equipment, and textile sectors, respectively.
The list has highlighted projects for industrial development, and the part of newly opened projects is 12 percentage points higher than last year.
