At the fourth session of the 12th CPPCC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, participating members shared their suggestions and views on deepening reform and opening-up, with a focus on the new economic development pattern of "dual circulation."
Under the pattern, China takes the domestic market as the mainstay, with domestic and foreign markets boosting each other.
According to Zhou Xiaomin, vice chairwoman of the CPPCC Suzhou Committee, it’s necessary to seek breakthroughs in opening cross-border financial and capital projects, and support innovative practices of the Jiangsu Pilot FTZ.
Wang Jining, dean of the School of Economics and Management of Nanjing University of Technology, called for efforts to make breakthroughs for technical self-reliance, promote innovation to play a key role in the "dual circulation," and actively meet people’s demand for high-end products and services in education, culture and sports fields by leveraging the province's abundant resources.
In the view of Lu Jianxin, deputy director of Nantong Economic and Information Commission, efforts are needed to coordinate the construction of major infrastructure in order to reduce transport and logistics costs and strengthen additional development competitiveness.
Regarding the expansion of domestic demand as the cornerstone, the province should align itself with important national strategies, explore collaborative development between China’s east and west, and improve the province’s participation and leading roles in the country’s overall development, according to Hu Ming, general manager of Nanjing Jinling Hotel Group.
