The Taizhou manufacturing base of Great Wall Motor (GWM), China's largest sport utility vehicle (SUV) and pickup manufacturer, held the completion ceremony on November 24.
As the eighth base of GWM in China, the Taizhou plant covers a land area of about 1,173 mu (78 hectares) in Gaogang District of Taizhou City and involves a total investment of 8 billion yuan.
Construction of the factory started in November last year and set new records for the smooth and rapid progress. The first PT (prototype) vehicle rolled off the production line in just nine months after the start of construction.
Its all-electric car ORA rolled off the assembly line and is available in the market on the same day.
