11 projects in Wujiang District raise 50 billion yuan

Wujiang District, one of three regions that form the demonstration area in the Yangtze River Delta on ecologically friendly development, announced new progress in pursuing an integrated development during an event on November 9.

China has made the regional integration of the Yangtze River Delta a national strategy. Launching the demonstration area, which also spans Qingpu District in Shanghai and Jiashan County in Zhejiang Province in addition to Wujiang in Suzhou, is a pioneering initiative under this strategy.

The event unveiled the Yangtze River Delta Investment Development (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd., a teacher college, and a program to integrate 5G development and talent training in partnership with Huawei.

Meanwhile, Wujiang also agreed to build an eco-friendly tech start-up hub with Jiangsu Environmental Protection and to deepen financial cooperation with Suzhou branch of the China Development Bank. Eleven projects also received financing totaling 50 billion yuan.

On the day, the project to develop a demonstration zone for collaborative innovation in green intelligent manufacturing in the delta region was also launched. A cooperation among Greenland Holding Group, CRRC Urban Traffic and Wujiang District, the project involves a total investment of 10 billion yuan and envisions a testing and inspection center, intelligent workshops, centers for several manufacturing initiatives, and a research institute for intelligent lifting system.
