A shot video competition for expats in Jiangsu Province, organized by the Jiangsu People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Xinhua Daily Media Group, held the award ceremony on August 8 in Nanjing.
The event attracted 133 short videos made by 377 foreigners from 63 countries. Participants included business executives, teachers, scientific researchers, musicians, sports coaches, and students. The works, including those in forms of letters, songs and documentaries, recorded the comprehensive COVID-19 response from different angles and how foreigners contributed to the fight against the pandemic.
According to Bai Suning, president of the Jiangsu People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, there are currently nearly 100,000 expats working, studying and living in Jiangsu. The association launches the “Focus on a Beautiful Jiangsu" event every year which consists of photography, essay, and orienteering contests to strengthen exchanges and help foreigners better fit into the society.
