The international freight plane organized for exporters in the Suzhou Industrial Park launched its first service on April 20, departing from Shanghai Pudong International Airport directly to Germany.
This shipment of 64 cubic meters of cargo came from two enterprises in Suzhou Industrial Park, mainly mechanical and electrical products including elevator control cabinets. Upon arrival in Germany, the goods will be transported by trucks to other European countries and regions.
Wu Xuejin, secretary general of the park’s logistics industry association, said the global spread of the CVOID-19 has caused disruption to the aviation logistics chain, increasing difficulty of timely delivery for many foreign trade enterprises in the park.
To solve the problem, Suzhou Industrial Park has organized international cargo transportation service by air, sea and land, and launched international freight charter routes that give priority to meet the export needs of enterprises in the park.
At present, Suzhou Industrial Park has established a service mechanism to coordinate the import and export for manufacturers of the COVID-19 response materials as well as to keep the international logistics channel smooth. Many measures, such as charter flights directly to the place of receipt, China-Europe truck service, waterway transport and China-European freight train service are offered to facilitate foreign trade.
