Experts from Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences (JASS) recently visited Vanuatu to provide training on high-quality vegetable varieties and cultivation techniques to over 50 local farmers.

The visit is part of the broader efforts to deepen agricultural cooperation between China and Pacific Island countries.

During the training session, the experts offered recommendations for developing the local vegetable industry, tailored to the natural conditions and agricultural realities of the island nation located in the southwestern Pacific.

Participants also visited an agricultural science and technology training center in Port Vila, the capital of Vanuatu, which is supported by JASS. Researchers gave on-site demonstrations on soil improvement and seedling cultivation, and distributed chili and tomato seedlings to attendees.

To date, JASS has dispatched three teams, comprising a total of seven experts, to Vanuatu for technical cooperation.
