This year marks the 10th anniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping's inspection of Zhenjiang, and the city will deliver the results showcasing its progress and a bright future, according to Ma Minglong, head of Zhenjiang delegation at the "two sessions" of Jiangsu Province.

Zhenjiang will focus on becoming an industrial powerhouse in its pursuit of high-quality development. It will promote smooth cooperation among “government, industry, university, research institute, finance, and intermediary service providers,” and advance various sectors to become digitalized, smart, and internet-powered. The city aims to achieve breakthroughs in key projects, facilitate the integration of advanced manufacturing and modern services, promote the upgrading of traditional industries, and develop emerging industries with a forward-looking perspective, accelerating the formation of new productive forces.

Zhenjiang will focus on the goal of common prosperity and improve people's livelihood at a higher quality. Efforts will be made to guarantee people's basic needs and promote quality-oriented development of and equal access to public services, such as education, health, elderly care, and childcare. It will coordinate new urbanization and comprehensive rural revitalization at the county level, develop rural industries featuring local specialties, and support “new farmers” who are tech-savvy and familiar with modern business operations, thus boosting the high-quality integrated development of urban and rural areas.

Committed to enhancing its ecological and environment protection, Zhenjiang will focus on the protection of the Yangtze River and a new round of comprehensive cleanup of Taihu Lake. The city also plans to combine urban renewal with the development of new areas, making the city more livable and resilient.

Zhenjiang aims for progress in cultural endeavors while building effective governance. The city will promote the modernization of its social governance system and capacity, effectively prevent and defuse major risks, and create a safe environment for development.
