Jiangsu launched the celebration of the eighth China Charity Day and the province’s Charity Week program in Nanjing on September 4.

The program includes more than 350 activities across the province, including recognizing role models and holding online fundraisers.

In recent years, the province has stepped up efforts to publicize the charity laws and regulations, support volunteer services, and facilitate the communication, participation and cooperation in philanthropic endeavors.

As of August, the province had 813 registered or recognized charitable organizations and had recorded 56 charitable trusts with assets totaling 289 million yuan. By the end of 2022, these charitable organizations had total assets of 27.548 billion yuan.

Jiangsu also boasts 22 million volunteers, more than 100,000 volunteer teams, and 99,800 licensed social workers, with social work service stations available in all townships and subdistricts.
