Wang Ning, executive chairman of Australia Jiangsu Business Council and also president of Australian Nanjing Chamber of Commerce, has been committed to helping Jiangsu expand its international cooperation across various fields.

The native of Nanjing led the establishment of the chamber of commerce and the council in 2014 and 2015, respectively. These two organizations now boast more than 4,000 members across Australia, actively engaging in trade, commerce, finance, medicine, education, and other sectors.

As a bridge for economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between Jiangsu and Australia, the organizations hold economic, trade and cultural activities, arrange visits to Jiangsu for Australia entrepreneurs, and facilitate discussions with business authorities in Victoria.

Wang has been actively participating in various events associated with Jiangsu and Nanjing, such as the torch relay for the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games and the ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the Nanjing Massacre. In 2019, Wang was appointed as "Nanjing Investment Ambassador", a role that rallies the support of overseas Chinese communities and helps expand the city’s global connections.  Having lived overseas for nearly 20 years, Wang has made it his mission to promote Chinese culture abroad and advance cultural exchange. With a passion for photography, he has held many personal photography both domestically and internationally, such as Photo Beijing. Some of his works have been collected by renowned libraries and museums. Wang said he enjoys using photos as a means to showcase Jiangsu’s beauty and vibrant development to a global audience.

Wang also said that, as a frontrunner in China’s opening up, Jiangsu has a booming economy and should play an active role in telling China’s stories to the world with a global perspective. He also hoped that Jiangsu can fully leverage its cultural resources, enhance communication efforts, and raise the province’s profile worldwide.
