EV charging usually requires the driver to stop the car near a charging post, but the mobile charging robots in Wuxi has led to a pleasant new change.
At the Meicun service area of the G42 Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway, drivers can stop their EV cars and wait for the charging robots to arrive, assisted by the service area's staff members.

A driver surnamed Yu, said his car has a driving range of 300 kilometers and it takes about 30 minutes to charge the car batteries to 90% by using the charging robot.
The robot, similar to a power bank, makes it easier for drivers to charge their vehicles, saving them the trouble of finding a charging post.
The charging robot can charge itself at night and provide service for 4-5 EVs, according to staff members of the service area.
