Suzhou's Metro Line 11 began trial operation without passengers on March 1, marking a milestone in the line's development as its terminal station, Huaqiao, is an interchange with Shanghai's Metro Line 11.

The interchange takes about 5 minutes and does not require another security check, which is of great convenience for travelers. It is also the city's first line to connect with Shanghai's rail transit network.

Suzhou's Metro Line 11 began construction in November 2018 and includes 28 stations with a total length of 41.25 kilometers. The line starts from Weiting Station in Suzhou Industrial Park in the west, passes through the park and downtown Kunshan, and connects with Shanghai’s metro line. With a maximum speed of 100 km per hour, it's expected to be officially put into operation in the middle of this year.
