At the invitation of the Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, a Japanese media delegation consisting of 10 members visited Xiangcheng District of Suzhou City on February 23 and 24.
The delegation includes Shanghai-based journalists working for Kyodo News, Asahi Shimbun, Nikkei, NHK, and other media outlets.
The tour showcased the province's efforts to advance Sino-Japanese relations in the new era as well as practical cooperation in various fields supported by the China-Japan (Suzhou) Local Development Cooperation Demonstration Zone.
The delegation visited the Yangtze River Delta International R&D Community Exhibition Center, the China-Japan Cultural Exchange Center, and the Qingtai International Industrial Design Village.
The members also had interviews with AllRide.ai and Nissan Mobility Service Co Ltd and had the opportunity to try out self-driving cars.
In a meeting at the Technology and Commerce Department of the High-Speed Rail New Town, the delegation gained a clear understanding of comprehensive measures and services to facilitate direct investment from Japan.
A visit to the Suzhou Museum of Imperial Kiln Brick also helped the delegation delve more into Suzhou's culture.
