The third plenary session of the 14th CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee was held in Nanjing on November 29.
The session heard and deliberated the work report by Wu Zhenglong, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, entrusted by the Standing Committee, and reviewed and adopted a decision on the in-depth study and implementation of the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and comprehensive promotion of Chinese path to modernization in the province.
The plenum noted that the 20th CPC National Congress took place at a critical time as the entire Party and the Chinese people of all ethnic groups embark on a new journey to build China into a modern socialist country in all respects and advance toward the Second Centenary Goal. The congress has charted the course for continued progress in advancing the cause of the Party and the country on the new journey to achieve the Second Centenary Goal in the new era and established a guide to action.
Faced with the complex and severe external environment and difficult challenges, Jiangsu has fully and accurately implemented the new development concept, making new and stable achievements in reform and development, according to the meeting.
Standing at a new historical starting point, the province will deeply understand the characteristics and essential requirements of Chinese path to modernization, make new strides in endeavors such as comprehensive development strength, quality of life, ecological and environmental protection, common prosperity and social governance, and forge ahead to pilot new modernization practices.
With manufacturing industries as the foundation of high-quality development, Jiangsu will continue to make digital economy an important driver, give priority to agricultural and rural development, and accelerate the forming of a modern industrial system.
Jiangsu will provide more support to the development of education, science and technology and talents, adhere to the people-centered approach, improve the social security system, and fulfill the nationwide strategy of actively coping with an ageing population.
The meeting noted Jiangsu will be committed to ecological protection, green and low-carbon development as well as the steady realization of the carbon emissions peaking and carbon neutrality goals.
Following the path of socialist political development with Chinese characteristics, Jiangsu will improve the work of local people's congress in the new era, improve the system of consultative democracy, and comprehensively promote law-based governance, according to the meeting.
In addition, Jiangsu will strengthen efforts to develop cultural undertakings and industries, and adhere to reform and opening up, with the building of a high-level socialist market economy system as a priority.
