Jiangsu will further lower the prices for nucleic acid testing at public medical institutions starting on November 25, according to the province’s Healthcare Security Administration.

The price for each individual test will go down to 40 yuan and the mixed sample analysis will be 10 yuan per person at most.

Public medical institutions providing such testing services should set up designated windows or at exclusive areas, optimize the internal management, adopt electronic approaches, and deliver testing results through the mobile phone. People seeking nucleic acid testing only shall be waived from paying the outpatient fee.

Since 2020, in accordance with the COVID-19 response measures, the Healthcare Security Administration has reduced the prices for nucleic acid testing four times, from 240 yuan to 40 yuan now.
