Jiangsu held a meeting on November 4 to strengthen efforts on transport and port management in the fight against the new COVID-19 outbreak, which already hit several cities in the province.
The province will strengthen the emergency response, enforce a strict control of highways and waterways, and tighten the management of passengers travelling through the medium and high-risk areas.

In addition to setting up inspection points on roads and waterways, Changzhou will ensure outbound passengers strictly meet the requirements of negative nucleic acid test result and health codes. The city has also suspended inter-provincial and inter-city road passenger transport services and airport operations.
Other cities are urged to stop passenger transport to medium and high-risk areas and completely suspend the car rental and car-pooling businesses to such areas. All railway stations, bus terminals, airports and ferry terminals in the province will also increase management of inbound passengers from medium and high-risk areas.
Furthermore, the province has also taken a series of measures in the logistics sector, including prevention efforts on imported goods and health check of those working in the sector. The frontline staff must complete the booster vaccination before they are allowed to work.
