Nanjing Lukou International Airport has strengthened the management of all passengers passing through the terminal to improve the COVID-19 response.
The tighter measures include check of passenger’s temperature and health QR code as well as the new requirement to show a negative nucleic acid test report within 48 hours.
Meanwhile, the airport has also coordinated with airlines to adjust the flight schedule so as to ensure safe and orderly travelling. Passengers are also suggested to contact the airlines to confirm the details.
Seventeen workers in the airport tested positive for COVID-19 as of Wednesday noon. Nine of them have been diagnosed as confirmed cases and five as asymptomatic carriers. The remaining three are awaiting further diagnosis, according to a press conference by the municipal government on Wednesday.
Local health authorities found positive results during routine nucleic acid testing for airport staff.
