Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, presided over the second plenary session of the provincial leading group tasked to promote the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta on July 14.
Wu Zhenglong, governor of the province, also attended the meeting which emphasized a five-pronged strategy including the development of the Shanghai-Nanjing industrial innovation belt to be a role model in the delta’s coordinated S&T progress.
Jiangsu will also strengthen the construction of major infrastructure to improve the transportation network of high-speed railways, airports, and water-rail intermodal system.
The province will also step up efforts to improve environment of the Taihu Lake basin, with pollution control and cross-regional collaboration among its top priorities.
The fourth front refers to linking the development of the Jiangsu Pilot Free Trade Zone with Shanghai, Zhejiang and Anhui so as to facilitate industrial coordination and opening-up.
Jiangsu also pledges to enhance people's livelihood, adopt integrated approaches in COVID-19 response, accelerate the progress of public health systems, and improve the response system for major emergencies.
