Nanjing Jiangbei New Area Industrial Technology Research and Innovation Park (NJITRIP) launched a public service platform for Electronics Design Automation (EDA) on July 13.
The platform will provide professional technical service for IC industry in Jiangbei New Area, including complete chip design service for SMEs, the first of its kind in China.
An integral component of semiconductor design, EDA is responsible for developing the design tools that enable the IC design process to be achieved at a design cost that allows the ecosystem to operate at a profit.
Chip design enterprises often need to spend a lot to purchase EDA tools or rely on licenses on some platforms, which increases the operating costs of SEMs and may lead to errors and low efficiency when there’s no dedicated support of a professional team.
Fortunately, this open platform covers main and cutting-edge process so enterprises can use the validated design and software easily and efficiently.
NJITRIP cooperated with X-TIMES to develop the platform. X-TIMES focuses on the digital realization of EDA R&D and provides high-end digital chip design services. It has provided services to many projects involving automotive electronics, AI and 5G, helping IC design companies reduce costs, shorten design cycles and improve efficiency.
