Cui’s family ran a bicycle repair stall on Dinghuaimen Street in the 1990s, which was close to the Baiyunting Market. As many vegetable vendors visited her home to get boiled water then, Cui then began to offer the free service in 1998 and it has been running for 24 years.

Cui also provides cooling ointment and household herbal remedy for summer ailments.
