Yancheng-Nantong High-speed Railway opens

The Yancheng-Nantong High-speed Railway opened on December 30, bringing cities in northern Jiangsu closer to the national railway network and cutting the travel time between Yancheng and Shanghai to 2 hours.

The first railway with a speed up to 350 km/h in northern Jiangsu, it began construction in April 2018 and then later accelerated the pace to be 16 months ahead of schedule upon approval of China Railway Group.

The new railway between Yancheng Station and Nantong West Station has 29 bridges and is 157 kilometers long, offering a fast way for cities in northern Jiangsu to quickly connect with Shanghai.

There will be 6 pairs of trains to run on the new railway, with a speed up to 300 km/h during the initial stage.
