Active since March 15, the system has worked well at Nanjing Lukou International Airport, saving much labor and significantly increasing inspection efficiency.
The system applies advanced face recognition technology so that inbound passengers with masks can also have their temperatures taken quickly. The customs officers then quickly scan their health declaration cards and passports before all information, including both pictures and videos, is uploaded to the system. Each inbound passenger has their own file established in the program to show information of identity, health status, temperature and a video clip of how their temperature was measured, in addition to such data as an epidemiological questionnaire, sampling tables and a staff handover report.
Previously, these procedures were mainly done manually. The new approach quickens the whole process but can also find out and lock onto passengers from high risk regions. The entire process can be completed in just one minute.
From January 21 to April 20, customs office at the airport has supervised a total of 1,422 inbound and outbound flights carrying 155,986 passengers. More than 700 were inbound flights with a total of 81,470 passengers.
