A man who lives in Suzhou Industrial Park has been confirmed to get pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), said the National Health Commission on January 22.

The 37-year-old returned to Suzhou from Wuhan City, the main battlefield in Central China’s Hubei Province, on January 10 and then went to see a doctor after feeling he had a fever. He was later transferred to a designated medical institute for treatment. Jiangsu Center for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed the man got infected by the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).

The patient is now in a stable condition with body temperatures in the normal range. Meanwhile, none of 28 people who had close contacts with the patient showed any symptoms of acute respiratory infection during the medical observation, and 13 of them have been discharged.

Jiangsu Department of Transportation also declared an emergency response act on January 21, suspending the ferry and long-distance passenger transport to Wuhan. Passengers who have purchased the tickets can get full refund from service providers without any fees charged.

At present, the province has 28 designated hospitals for pneumonia treatment and 541 fever clinics.
