Thai Vietjet Air flight VZ3531, carrying 230 passengers at full capacity, departed smoothly from Wuxi Shuofang International Airport on December 7, marking the official resumption of the Wuxi-Bangkok passenger route.
Vietjet Air initially operates two flights per week using A320/321 aircraft, with plans to increase to four flights per week starting January 21.
Currently, the airport offers 10 international (regional) passenger routes, including connections to Osaka, Incheon, Nha Trang, and Singapore.
In 2024, the airport has recorded over 800,000 inbound and outbound passengers, a year-on-year increase of 111%. International flights have exceeded 7,200, up 104% from the previous year. Among these passengers, more than 340,000 were outbound Chinese travelers, a 131.2% increase, with 246,000 or over 70% traveling for tourism.
