Jiangsu Port Group became the first inland port enterprise in China to achieve a container throughput of 10 million TEUs on December 3, as the milestone container was loaded onto a vessel at the Longtan Port terminal in Nanjing.
Chen Ming, chairman of Jiangsu Port Group, attributed this achievement to the group’s focus on developing a comprehensive logistics network integrating the Yangtze River, inland waterways, and maritime routes since its establishment in 2017.
Currently, the group operates 194 shipping routes with 1,792 sailings per month, including 83 newly launched container routes. This extensive network has enabled the group to exceed both the national average and the Yangtze River Delta regional average for container throughput growth.
