Jiangsu Province is represented by 17 athletes at the 14th National Winter Games, which opened in Hulun Buir, North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on February 17.
More than 3,000 athletes from 35 delegations nationwide will compete in 176 events across eight sports, in addition to four mass events. This marks the nation's first comprehensive winter sports event after Beijing 2022 and the largest and most extensive edition in the history of the National Winter Games.
Events such as alpine skiing, bobsleigh and luge will take place in Beijing and Hebei Province, leveraging resources originally developed for Beijing 2022.
The opening ceremony incorporated digital technologies to highlight the autonomous region’s distinctive characteristics and the appeal of ice and snow sports. It also showcased the cultural elements, landmarks and scenic beauty across the country.
